Product testing during development INHOUSE at BUSSE
Product testing
Products are becoming increasingly complex and compact, while development cycles are getting shorter and shorter. To avoid costly corrections in later project phases, it is important to validate critical functions at an early stage and in practice during development. BUSSE already offers a large number of in-house test set-ups for this purpose.
Thanks to the close co-operation and short distances between our design department and prototype construction, we at BUSSE can carry out development-related tests directly on site. This enables us to check functions and housings at an early stage, particularly with regard to drop load, tightness and fatigue strength. We have developed a series of modular test devices that can be quickly and easily adapted to the respective products and tests:
Service life tests and wear analyses
Weight load tests
Standardised drop tests with high-speed cameras and shock data loggers
Waterproofness tests and test finger tests according to IP standard (sprinkling and immersion tests)
Specialised solutions for individual requirements
In addition, we create prototypes from original materials for thermal and photometric tests to validate simulation results. Of course, these development-accompanying tests do not replace later official tests under the correct laboratory conditions at recognised certification bodies. However, as pragmatic ‘hands-on tests’, they provide quick findings based on the respective protection class and test procedures defined in the standard. Experience has shown that such tests provide valuable insights that could otherwise only lead to costly delays in later development phases at external testing institutes.
