Dimensional analysis in augmented reality - before the actual design process
VR and AR in the design process
With our 3D and VR/AR tools, we can visualise complex spatial and HMI situations in a combination of physical and digital 3D content and make them realistically tangible. This enables early testing and selection of geometric arrangements and HMI scenarios without the expensive and time-consuming preliminary work of complete prototypes.

Steps in the virtual reality design process
The primary added value of this approach lies in the development circle: it enables extremely early processing and evaluation of virtual 3D models in the context of the technical package. This leads to a reduction in the effort required for 3D surface modelling during the design concept. The outstanding flexibility in the customisation of geometries makes it possible to avoid approaches that are difficult to implement. By integrating augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), ergonomic conditions can be checked. In addition, surfaces and solids can be reused for rapid prototyping.
Primary added value and flexibility:
Early 3D model evaluation in a technical context reduces surface modelling effort, enables flexible geometry adaptation and supports RP part processing. AR & VR are used for ergonomic verification.
Focus on tool limits:
No photorealistic representations, does not replace design draft or exact geometric definitions such as fits, joints, demoulding bevels.
